Doug Taylor

Douglas B. Taylor is Founder and Managing Partner of Burton-Taylor International Consulting LLC, a market data business consulting organization. Doug created the firm in 2006, and it has since become the market data industry reference. Burton-Taylor’s clients command an estimated 80% share of global revenue in the $25 billion space and include the world’s leading information companies, largest exchange groups, key government organizations and regulatory bodies on multiple continents, five of the six largest advisory firms serving the industry, and dozens of the most active private equity and investment companies.

Mr. Taylor entered the information and news space at Reuters in 1987, where he spent 15 years in North America, South America and Europe, the last five of which he headed Reuters news marketing and product management globally. After leaving Reuters, and before founding Burton-Taylor, Mr. Taylor headed the marketing and product development divisions, as well as the Investment Management, Investment Banking & Research, Institutional Equities and Wealth Management business units for Thomson Financial in Asia. He has also served as Chief Marketing Officer at software developer Insurance Technologies and as Manager, Partner Engagement at Microsoft.

Mr. Taylor has 25 years of industry background, an MBA in Marketing and Management, a BBA in Finance, is a member of Strategic and Competitive Intelligence Professionals (SCIP), holds seven unique research and analysis trademarks, and is a board member of First State Financial Inc.
